O R D E R
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents, particularly the second and third respondents, to issue a computerised house-site patta in respect of the land in S.No.49/2, Perambur Village, Viralimalai Taluk, Pudukkottai District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 10.10.2025, within a time to be stipulated by this Court.
2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner's house is situated in the subject land, which was assigned by the third respondent on 02.04.2006 in recognition of the petitioner's long and continuous possession and a manual patta was also issued in the petitioner's name. The petitioner thereafter submitted a representation dated 10.10.2025 seeking issuance of a computerised patta. Though the respondents, in their reply furnished under the Right to Information Act, 2005, have confirmed the existence of the manual patta in the petitioner's name, the said representation has not been considered and the computerised patta has not Page No. 2 of 5
been issued. Therefore, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner's representation would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a period of four weeks.
5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the second and third respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 10.10.2025 and pass appropriate orders, after conducting enquiry, on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The second and third respondents shall afford a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and all other interested parties before passing such orders. No costs.
