ORDER

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.The petitioner is employed in the Police Department. He was visited with major penalty by order dated 01.04.2016. He preferred an appeal before the respondent on 17.07.2017. Stating that this appeal should be disposed of speedily, this Writ Petition came to be filed.

3.After the present Writ Petition was filed, the petitioner has been informed that the Deputy Inspector General of Police has taken suo motu review. Therefore, as of now nothing survives for adjudication in this Writ Petition. Preserving the rights of the petitioner to contest the proceedings initiated against him, the Writ Petition is closed as infructuous. No costs.
