Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent. 2.The prayer in this writ petition is for a Mandamus, directing the respondent to pass appropriate order on the petitioner's application dated 09.01.2020 to grant permission to conduct the festival at Senthangudi Shri Malaimariamman, Seventh Day Mandagapadi and Flower Showering Festival dated 15.03.2020 and 28.03.2020. 3.The case of the petitioner is that about 2000 families are residing in Keelaiyur village and every year there is a practice of conducting Senthangudi Shri Malaimariamman, Seventh Day Mandagapadi and Flower Showering Festival. It is stated that in the previous years, permission had been granted by the respondent for conducting the said festival.

This year the village people have decided to conduct the said festival on 15.03.2020 and 28.03.2020. In this regard, the petitioner has sent a representation to the respondent on 09.01.2020. But, the said representation is still pending consideration. Hence, the petitioner has come up with the present writ petition.

W.P.[MD]No.3516 of 2020 4.The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the representation of the petitioner would be considered in accordance with law.

5.In view of the above, considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the case, the respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 09.01.2020 and pass orders on the same, on merits and in accordance with law after issuing notice to the petitioner as well as the persons involved in this matter, within a period of two [2] weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
