O R D E R
The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the 1st respondent to produce the petitioner's original OMR answer sheet.
2. The petitioner states that he participated in the process of selection for appointment to the post of Grade-II Police 1/3
Constable. He was successful in the written examination and participated in the physical endurance and efficiency test. However, he was not selected. The petitioner in his affidavit has stated that he scored 66 marks and therefore, he is entitled to be selected for appointment to the post of Grade-II Police Constable.

The learned Additional Advocate General relying on the written instructions filed by the 1st respondent, stated that the petitioner is not falling within the zone of consideration, as he secured lesser marks than that of the cut off marks. In this regard he referred to Para 5 of the written instructions, which reads as follows:- "5. the petitioner Tr.P.Nanthakumar applied for the common recruitment 2019 with the Enrollment No.2419374. He belongs to ST community under general category and claims PSTM. It is also submitted that the petitioner has opted 1st preference to the post of Tamil Nadu Special Police, 2nd for Jail Warder and 3rd for Firemen in his online application. The petitioner secured 54 marks in written test, 12 marks in physical efficiency test and in total he secured 66 marks.
Complying with the roster system of the Government, by following the communal rotation, the petitioner has failed to secure the required marks to be fitted within the roster system either under TSP or Jail Warder or Firemen. Further, the petitioner has been ranked at 8094 and he is ST PSTM category candidate, while the last selected candidates belonging to ST General PSTM has secured 68 marks ranking 5807 and ST General has secured 68 marks ranking 5793."
4. In view of the fact that the cut off mark for the particular category is 68 and the petitioner scored only 66 marks, he was not selected and this Court do not find any infirmity as such.
5. With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. Sd/- Assistant Registrar (CS-II) // True Copy // / /2022 Sub Assistant Registrar(CS) abr 2/3
