ORDER : The Court Made the following order :- The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for an alleged offence punishable under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in Crime No.5 of 2014 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the state.
3. This is 4th anticipatory bail petition. The case of the prosecution is that the Vigilance and Anti Corruption laid a trap for apprehending one Thanga Nadar, Sub-Inspector of Police, who had demanded money from the defacto complainant. Money smeared with phenolphthalein by the trap party and the defacto complainant was handed over to Thanga Nadar from whom the petitioner herein collected and on seeing the Vigilance Police, the petitioner ran away from the scene. The petitioner is absconding since then. Even in the trap mahazar, this fact is stated. Without custodial interrogation, there is no possibility for the Police to recover the phenolphthalein tainted money.
