2.It is true that the petitioners had committed a technical violation of the prohibitory orders passed by the police and the administration. But then, on going through the contents of the final reports, it is seen that the petitioners had assembled only for raising some legitimate civic issues. In one case, the petitioners asked for reduction of the sugar price and in another case, they want TASMAC liquor outlet to be closed. It is not the case of the prosecution that some adverse consequence ensued as a result of the breach committed by the petitioners herein. Therefore, I am of the view that the continuation of the impugned prosecution is not warranted. In this view of the matter, all the impugned proceedings stand quashed. These criminal original petitions stand allowed.
