J U D G M E N T

[Judgment of the Court was made by RMT.TEEKAA RAMAN, J.] This writ appeal is filed by the respondents in W.P.(MD) No.8782 of 2016 challenging the order dated 26.02.2019 passed in the said writ petition.

2. The respondent herein filed the said writ petition seeking for a direction to the appellants herein to appoint him in the post of Village Assistant in the office of the second appellant, as per the interview conducted by the second appellant.

3. The learned Single Judge, by order dated 26.02.2019, disposed of the said writ petition. The relevant portion of the order of the learned Single Judge reads as under:

"6. Such stand taken by the respondents cannot be countenanced, in the light of the Judgment of the Division Bench of this Court in Union of India v. Central Administrative Tribunal, reported in (2008) 5 MLJ 226. Hence, the respondents are directed to pass appropriate orders on the claim of the petitioner, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order"

4. Challenging the same, this writ appeal.

5. Today, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the appellants, on instructions, submitted that the appellants have complied with the directions issued by the learned Single Judge and to that effect, she has produced a copy of the proceedings of the second appellant, dated 07.12.2019 and its corrigendum, dated 13.12.2019, before this Court, by rejecting the claim of the respondent / writ petitioner.

6. In view of the above, nothing survives for further adjudication in this writ appeal. Accordingly, this writ appeal is closed. However, liberty is granted to the respondent / writ petitioner to challenge the proceedings of the

second appellant, dated 07.12.2019 and its corrigendum, dated 13.12.2019, in the manner known to law. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
