O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondent to grant permission to perform the programmes such as "Aadal Padal" Programme on 19.02.2018 at night 08.00pm., to 01.00am., at Arulmigu Sri Edaiyan Karuppan Thirukovil situated in V.Malampatti Village, S.Velangudi, Thirupathur Taluk, Sivagangai District and to provide adequate police protection based on the petitioner's representation dated 25.01.2018.

2.Heard Mr.T.Indrajithu, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.N.Shanmuga Selvam, learned Additional Government Pleader, appearing for the respondent.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has submitted that the villagers are conducting Temple Festival every year and this year, they have decided to conduct the festival on 19.02.2018 at night 08.00pm., to 01.00am., and for that, they have already given a representation dated 25.01.2018 to the respondent, but, sofar, no order has been passed. Hence, he has filed the present writ petition.

4.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent has not raised any serious objection.

5.Considering the aforesaid submissions, the respondent is directed to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner, dated 25.01.2018 and dispose of the same at early by keeping in mind the decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in the case of Church of God (Full Gospel) in India Vs. K.K.R, Majestic Colony Welfare Association and Ors, reported in 2001 - 1 - L.W. (Crl.) 233.

6.With the aforesaid observations, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
