ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the Judicial Magistrate, Karaikudi, to dispose of the C.C.No.159 of 2012 as expeditious as possible.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the respondent.
3. A criminal case has been filed in C.C.No.159 of 2012 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Karaikudi under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, against the respondent herein and the said case is pending for more than five years. Cross examination of P.W.1 was commenced. Hence, the petitioner filed this petition before this Court for disposal of the said criminal case expeditiously within the time frame fixed by this Court.
4. To meet the ends of justice, the learned Judicial Magistrate, Karaikudi, is directed to complete the trial in C.C.No.159 of 2012 expeditiously, on merits and in accordance with law, preferably, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The respondent shall cooperate with the trial in C.C.No.159 of 2012 for final disposal.
