ORDER

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Advocate General assisted by the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

2. The respondent issued recruitment notification inviting applications from eligible candidates for the post of Police Constable Grade-II. The petitioner applied in response thereto. The petitioner was disqualified on the ground that he did not fulfil the norms relating to height. Challenging the disqualification slip issued by the respondents, the present writ petition came to be filed.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner reiterated all the contentions set out in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition and called upon this Court to grant relief as prayed for. 2/4

4. The respondents have filed an additional affidavit and it had been clearly stated that the petitioner's height was digitally measured. It was found that his height was 169.7 cm. As per the rounding of norms, while 169.8 cm will be rounded upto 170 cm, 169.7 cm will be rounded upto 169.5 cm. It is not for this Court to question the rounding of norms. In any event, the candidate who had taken part in the selection process accepting the norms, cannot be allowed to turn around and challenge the same. The petitioner has not alleged malafide. The competent authority has filed an affidavit stating that the petitioner was digitally measured. There is no contra material to impeach the said result. I do not find any ground to interfere.

5. The Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
