ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to quash the impugned order dated 02.02.2026 and consequently, direct the respondent police to give permission and adequate police protection for conduction the cultural program (Adal Padal) to be conducted at Arulmigu Sri Ayiram Kankonda Muthumariyamman Temple Festival 08.02.2026 at 06.00 p.m, to 12.00 p.m, in Irungalur Village, Trichy District.

2. The respondents denied permission through the impugned order stating that the petitioner had not informed the number of participants or the number of vehicles to be used. When the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted the same reason, this Court directed the respondents to clarify whether the said Adal Padal Programme would be conducted in a prominent public place. It was submitted that the programme would be conducted within the village.

3. In such circumstances, the reason cited in the impugned order is irrelevant. Therefore, the impugned order is quashed. The respondents are directed to grant permission to conduct the Adal Padal Programme from 6.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. The petitioner shall also file an undertaking that no obscene words, dances, communal songs, or posts will be exhibited during the programme.
