O R D E R

The petitioner, an ex-serviceman is working in the Prison Department as Chief Head Warden at Pudukkottai. On 11.08.2025, he has been transferred to the Central Prison, Coimbatore. Accordingly, he joined duty on 19.08.2025 and serving there till now. The grievance of the petitioner is that he has to take care of her aged mother and his daughter, who is having mental disorder issue. Therefore, the petitioner has submitted a representation on 13.12.2025, to the Director General of Prison and Correctional Services, Prison Headquarters, Chennai, to accommodate him in and around Tiruvarur District. Since the representation of this petitioner has not yet been considered by the respondents, the petitioner has approached this Court. 2/5

2.The petitioner claims that he is at the verge of retirement. In the event, if he is posted nearby Thiruvarur, he will be able to take care of his aged mother and his differently abled daughter.

3.The petitioner has not challenged the order of transfer and he joined in the transferred place on 19.08.2025 and from there, he made a representation to accommodate him in and around Tiruvarur District on the ground that he has to take care of his aged mother and his differently abled daughter.

4.In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the case of the petitioner sympathetically, after verifying the averments made in the petition and can accommodate him, nearby Tiruvarur District. No costs.
