This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondent to grant permission to perform the program such as "Adal Padal" festival on 13.02.2018 and 14.02.2018 at night 07.00 p.m to 11.00.p.m at "Arulmigu Sri Betha Perumal Thirukovil" situated at Narthevar Kudikadu, Ragavambalpuram Panchayt, Orthanadu Taluk, Thanjavur District and to provide adequate police protection based on the petitioner's representation dated 06.02.2018. 2.Heard, Mr.S.Venkatesan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.V.Anand, learned Government Advocate, appearing for the respondent.
3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is one of the committee member of the "Arulmigu Sri Betha Perumal Thirukovil" situated at Narthevar Kudikadu, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
Ragavambalpuram Panchayt, Orthanadu Taluk, Thanjavur District . The villagers are conducting the "Aadal-Padal" every year and this year, they have decided to conduct the "Aadal-Padal" on 13.02.2018 and 14.02.2018 and for that, they have already given a representation dated 06.02.2018 to the respondent, but, sofar, no order has been passed. Hence, he has filed the present writ petition. 3.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent has not raised any serious objection.
4.Considering the aforesaid submissions, the respondent is directed to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner, dated 06.02.2018 and dispose of the same at early by keeping in mind the decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in the case of Church of God (Full Gospel) in India Vs. K.K.R, Majestic Colony Welfare Association and Otrs, reported in 2001 - 1 - L.W. (Crl.) 233.
5.With the aforesaid observations, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
