ORDER

Heard both sides.

2.This writ petition has been filed for forbearing the respondents from proceeding against the petitioner's patta land without following due process of law. It would be better if in the writ prayer itself the survey number is mentioned.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner states that the petitioner is owing lands in Survey Nos.538/15 and 538/16 in Vembathur Village.

4.The learned Special Government Pleader clarifies that Survey No.537 has been classified as "Road" and that the authorities want to verify if there are encroachments on the road and if there are encroachments, they have to be removed. Survey is proposed to be 2/4

conducted only in respect of finding out encroachments in Survey No.

537. Such an exercise to be undertaken by the authorities cannot be restrained or prevented. The petitioner need not have any cause for worry. The authorities have not cast their eye on the petitioner's patta lands for any reason. Since the learned Special Government Pleader has clarified the position, no further order is required in this writ petition. 5.This writ petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs.
