ORDER

This writ petition has been seeking direction to respondents to pay the arrears of rent amount of Rs.1,66,192/- along with 12% interest per annum till the date of realization of the entire amount.

2.According to the petitioner, his building was leased out to the respondent post office for a monthly rent of Rs.4,000/-. Subsequently, in the year 2014, the lease was renewed and at that time, it was agreed that the second respondent agreed that they will pay the revised lease amount. However, without any notice during 2016, the respondent vacated the premises and have not paid the revised lease amount. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

3.Today when the matter is taken up for hearing, Mr.V.Kathirvelu, learned Assistant Solicitor General of India, on instructions submitted that lease has been renewed in 2014 and the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

rent has been increased from Rs.4,000/- to Rs.8,000/- and from the date of renewal till the respondent vacated the premises, they have paid the entire revised lease amount to the tune of Rs.82,808/- and the same was also received by the petitioner. 4.In view of the submission made by the learned Assistant Solicitor General of India, nothing survives for further adjudication in this writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petition is closed. No costs.
