O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the Respondents to grant permission for conducting Kabaddi Tournament at Anuppapatti, Thirumangalam Taluk, Madurai District on 17.02.2024 and 18.02.2024 based on the Petitioner's representation dated 05.02.2024.

2.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), on instructions from the Respondent Police, submitted that the Petitioner had not approached the Respondents 2 and 3 and had not given any representation and straight away, he had approached this Court seeking direction for conducting the Kabaddi Tournament. It is also his further submission that the Petitioner has to give a fresh representation to the Respondent Police and on such fresh representation, the Respondents undertake to follow the circular issued by the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu/Head of State Police Force, Chennai-4, in Rc.No. 007301/General I(I)/2019, dated 09.04.2019. He also seeks payment of 2/5

appropriate fee for providing Police protection, as per G.O.Ms.No.139, Home (PoI.VIII) Dept. dated 04.03.2019.

3.In view of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), the Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to Petitioner to give a fresh representation to the Respondent Police and on receipt of such representation, the Respondent Police is directed to consider the same and grant permission to the Petitioner to conduct the Kabaddi Tournament at Anuppapatti, Thirumangalam Taluk, Madurai District on 17.02.2024 and 18.02.2024 based on the aforesaid circular appropriately. The Petitioner shall pay reimbursement of Guard Charges for the Police Personnel as per G.O.Ms.No.139, Home (PoI.VIII) Dept. dated 04.03.2019. No costs.
