Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent herein to lay a new road from Thovalai Channel Koondu Paalam in Valukkamparai - Anjugramam State Highway at Myladi Village to Lord Jegannath Engineering College, Ramanathichanpudur, Kanyakumari District, so as to enable the students to reach their college without any hindrance, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 06.12.2017, more particularly within a time frame as may be stipulated by this Court.

O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH,J.] The petitioner being a student has come forward to initiate the pro bono publico seeking a direction to relay the road and the status report has been filed by the first respondent, in which it has been stated as follows:

"3. It is submitted that the Director of Town Panchayats, Chennai by his proceedings in Roc.No.120631/2017/B2, dated 21.03.2018, has granted administrative sanction for the works towards the damages caused due to North-East monsoon and Ochi Cyclone, 2017 to a total cost of Rs.57,61,000/- under State Disaster Response Fund for https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the year 2017-2018, for 16 Panchayats including Mylady Town Panchayat for providing CC Road at Koondupalam to North.

4. It is submitted that in the administrative sanction the District Collector has ordered that the work should be completed within 45 days. It is submitted that the CC road at Koondupalam to North will be laid within the time granted in the administrative sanction of the District Collector."

3. In view of the same, we direct the respondents to complete the aforesaid process of laying the road, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
