PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the third respondent to conduct the enquiry within the time fixed by this Court for remove the sudden wrong classification of the petitioner's private patta land comprised in S.No.153/6 situated in Jariputhukkottai Village, Maanamadurai Taluk, Sivagangai District as Government land in revenue records subsequently, direct the third respondent to re-issue the patta in favour of the petitioner's name based on his representation dated 12.01.2025.

ORDER

The petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking the limited relief of issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the third respondent to conduct an enquiry in respect of the alleged wrong classification of the petitioner's private patta lands comprised in S.No.153/6 in Jariputhukkottai Village, Maanamadurai Taluk, Sivagangai District as Government land and to consequently direct the third respondent to re-issue patta in the petitioner's name. 2/5

2.Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for in the writ petition, with the consent of the learned counsel on either side, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

3.The petitioner, aggrieved by the re-classification of his patta lands as Government lands, has given a representation to the respondents on 12.01.2025. By this writ petition, he only seeks expeditious disposal of the said representation.

4.Considering the relief sought for and the competent authority being the second respondent, this Writ Petition is allowed with a direction to the second respondent to expedite the enquiry based on the representation of the petitioner, dated 12.01.2025 and pass final orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
