ORDER
Seeking for a direction to the respondents to promote the petitioner as Assistant on par with the promotion granted to the petitioner's juniors, the present writ petition has been filed. 2.Heard the learned Counsel on either side and also perused the materials available on record.
3.The petitioner, who was working as Junior Assistant with the respondent, was placed in Serial No.16 in the promotion panel, dated 26.12.2017, to the post of Assistant. Though the petitioner was placed senior in promotion list, in counselling, he was not granted promotion and his juniors got promotion to the post of Assistant. Hence, he made a representation to the respondent on 22.01.2018. Since the respondent has not taken any decision on the representation of the petitioner, the petitioner has approached this Court.
4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent, on instructions, submitted that the grievance of the petitioner would be addressed on merits.

5.Under such facts and circumstances of the case, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 22.01.2018, on merits and in accordance with law, and pass appropriate orders, after affording opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6.This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
