[Order of the Court was delivered by T.S.SIVAGNANAM, J.] Heard Mr.A.Rangarajan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.D.Muruganantham, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent.

2.The petitioner, viz., M/s.SBI Global Factors Limited, is a Subsidiary of State Bank of India and they filed this writ petition praying for a direction to the District Collector, Madurai, to pass order on the petition dated 29.06.2017, filed under Section 14 of the SURFEASI Act. On receipt of the said application, the office of the first respondent, by letter dated 13.07.2017, sought for certain queries, which have been answered by the petitioner, vide reply dated 23.08.2017. In any event, since the application is pending before the first respondent, it would be appropriate for the first respondent to consider the same on merits and in accordance with law.

3.Taking note of the fact that the queries have been answered by the petitioner on 23.08.2017, we direct the first respondent to consider the application dated 29.06.2017 and pass appropriate order on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
