[Order of the Court was made by M.DURAISWAMY, J.] The petitioner has filed the above writ petition to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to declare the birthday (24th February) of the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Selvi J.Jayalalitha as a Government Ceremony, based on his representation dated 07.02.2020.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that since today (i.e.24.02.2020) is the birthday of the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, he has filed the writ petition. Further, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner asserted that there is no other reason for filing the writ petition seeking for such a direction.

3. The submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner cannot be accepted for issuing a writ of mandamus with regard to the prayer sought for in the present writ petition. In such view of the matter, we are not inclined to entertain the writ petition.
