O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner to direct the respondent to give permission and also to provide police protection for conducting "Kabadi Tournament" on 16.02.2018 and 17.02.2018.

2.Heard Mr.A.Azhageson , learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.V.Anand, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has submitted that for the past sixteen years, in the petitioner's village "Kabadi Tournament" has been conducted and likewise in this year also they have decided to conduct "Kabadi Tournament" on 16.02.2018 and 17.02.2018 and for that, seeking permission and police protection. The petitioner gave a representation before the respondent on 25.01.2018 and 02.02.2018, but sofar, no order has been passed.

4.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent has submitted that the permission was granted for conducting some other programmes on those days and hence the petitioner may give a fresh representation by mentioning fresh date. If any such representation is given, the respondent will consider and pass appropriate order.

5.Considering the aforesaid submissions, the petitioner is directed to give fresh representation by mentioning fresh date for conducting "Kabadi Tournament" and if any such representation is given, the respondent will consider the petitioner's representation and pass appropriate orders. At the time of passing order, the second respondent has to keep in mind the decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in the case of Church of God (Full Gospel) in India Vs. K.K.R, Majestic Colony Welfare Association and Ors, reported in 2001 - 1 - L.W. (Crl.) 233.

6.With the aforesaid observations, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
