O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first and second respondents to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 06.01.2025 in accordance with law and in the light of the final decrees passed by the civil court and consequently to direct the first respondent to update the patta by entering the petitioner's name in Patta No.3 relating to Survey Nos.466, 763 and 506, situated at Tachchakudi Village, Sivakasi Taluk, Virudhunagar District, within a time to be stipulated by this Court.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the subject property belongs to the petitioner, who inherited the same by way of succession. However, during the UDR updation, the name of the petitioner's grandfather was wrongly omitted and instead, the name of "Ayyanar Kovil" alone was erroneously entered in the revenue records. advantage of the said erroneous entry, certain private individuals attempted to unlawfully interfere with and occupy the land. Therefore, the petitioner filed a civil suit, which was decreed in his favour. The further appeals filed by the aggrieved parties were also dismissed. Thus, the issue has attained finality.

4. Despite the above decree, the revenue records continue to reflect the incorrect entries. Hence, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 06.01.2025 before the second respondent, pursuant to which the second respondent initiated proceedings on 03.02.2025. However, till date, no final order has been passed. Therefore, the petitioner has been constrained to file the present Writ Petition.

5. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions, would submit that the petitioner's representation would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed by the first respondent within a period of twelve weeks.

6. Recording the above submissions and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a Page No. 3 of 5

direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 06.01.2025 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representation shall be disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The first respondent shall afford a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and all other interested parties before passing orders. No costs.
