PRAYER : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's letter dated 01.07.2019 and accordingly, direct the respondents to issue a priority certificate as sought for by the petitioner.

O R D E R

The relief sought for in the present Writ Petition is to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's letter dated 01.07.2019.

2. According to the petitioner, he has donated a portion of his land situated at Survey No.1605/A2, Uppidamangalam Village, Uppidamangalam Town Panchayat, Karur District, believing that his daughter namely G.Madhubala, would be given a priority certificate for getting employment in the Tamil Nadu State Government, as per G.O.Ms.No.188, Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department, dated 28.12.1976, G.O.Ms.No.656, Labour and Employment Department dated 29.06.1978 and G.O.Ms.No.371, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department, dated 17.11.1992. In this regard, the petitioner has also sent letters dated 25.06.2018, 21.08.2018 and 01.07.2019 to the first respondent to issue a priority certificate. However, without any valid reason, the first respondent rejected his request. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court by way of this writ petition.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would state that it would be sufficient if a direction is given to the respondents to consider the request of the petitioner.

4. Mr.J.Ashok, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would state that the request of the petitioner will be considered.

5. In view of the limited scope of the relief sought for, this Court, without expressing anything on the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 01.07.2019 and pass appropriate orders, on its own merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
