Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose of the appeal of the petitioner, dated 13.02.2016 and may consequently direct the first respondent to issue Malaivedan community certificate to petitioner's children Sethunapathi and Dharun, on the basics of the community certificate of their father Chandramohan, within a specified period. For Petitioner : Mr.K.P.Narayanakumar For Respondents : Mr.D.Muruganandam, Additional Government Pleader.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by T.S.SIVAGNANAM, J.] Heard Mr.K.P.Narayanakumar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as Mr.D.Muruganandam, learned Additional Government Pleader, appearing for the respondents. 2.The petitioner seeks for a direction upon the first respondent, namely, District Level Vigilance Committee under the Chairmanship of the District Collector, Madurai District, to dispose of the appeal petition filed by the petitioner, on 13.02.2016 and to consequently direct the first respondent to issue Malaivedan community certificate to the petitioner's children, on the basis of the certificate issued to the petitioner's husband. 3.The petitioner's husband is no more and he was working in the Postal Department and it is stated that he has been issued with a certificate by the Tahsildar, Madurai on 20.06.1979 and his cousin https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

brother, namely, Varatharajan, has been issued with a certificate by the Revenue Divisional Officer, Madurai.

4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the appeal petition would be disposed of expeditiously, but to avoid further delay, the petitioner may be directed to give one more copy of the appeal petition. 5.Considering the said statement, there will be a direction to the petitioner to submit one more copy of the appeal petition, which was sent by speed post, on 13.02.2016, along with a copy of this order and on receipt of the same, the appeal petition shall be placed before the District Level Vigilance Committee under the Chairmanship of the District Collector, Madurai District and decision be taken on the appeal petition, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner/authorised representative and final orders be passed within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
