Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to dispose the petitioner's application dated 29.07.20219, which was forwarded by the first respondent vide proceedings in Ref.No.2019/9005/30/215244/0729 dated 29.07.2019 by conducting the enquiry under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of Mandamus seeking a direction to the second respondent viz., the 1/3

Revenue Divisional Officer, Kanyakumari District, to enquire into the application given by the petitioner on 29.07.2019 and which is pending in proceedings in Ref.No.2019/9005/30/215244/0729, which has been filed under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.

2. The petitioner is the father of the respondents 5 and 7 and father-in-law of the respondents 6 and 8. The wife of the petitioner has unfortunately expired. The petitioner, in view of various circumstances as stated in the affidavit, had occasion to file an application before the first respondent and in which an enquiry is pending before the second respondent from 29.07.2019.

3. It is stated by the learned Government Advocate for the respondents 1 to 4 that notices have been issued and the next hearing date has been fixed tomorrow (12.03.2020).

4. In view of the same, the second respondent may proceed with the enquiry in manner known to law and after completion of enquiry, pass final orders on or before 30.04.2020.

With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No Costs.
