Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent i.e. the Principal Secretary to Government, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated 24.10.2017 based on the proposals sent by the District Collector, Sivagangai in his R.C.No.3147/2006/T2 dated 05.05.2008 and 23.05.2008 for re-fixation of seniority and grant of exemption in respect of the petitioner on par with others, within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court. O R D E R

The petitioner retired as Executive Officer (Selection Grade -Admin)on 31.05.2016. The petitioner has got some grievance regarding the fixation of seniority in the cadre of Executive Officer-Grade 1 and Executive Officer selection grade. In this regard, he submitted a representation on 24.10.2017. It appears that the District Collector, Sivaganga had earlier submitted proposals on 05.05.2008 and 23.05.2008 for re-fixation of seniority. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2.This Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the matter. It is open to the first respondent to pass orders one way or other. The first respondent is directed to pass orders on the petitioner's representation in accordance with law and on merits, within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
