Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to open the newly constructed Government Law College building at Madurai forthwith to enable the students of Madurai Law College to have better education and atmosphere, by considering the representations dated 15.09.2023 and 06.02.2024. O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble CHIEF JUSTICE] Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is a student of law. The new building has been constructed long back, but it is not put to use. In the new building, proper infrastructure is to be provided for the students.

2. Learned Government Pleader, on instructions, submits that though the building is completed, furniture is not yet installed. A proposal is made for procurement of the furniture.

3. Naturally, if the building is completed in all respects, it would be in the fitness of things to put the same to use at the earliest. The respondent shall process the proposal for the furniture in the new building in the law college expeditiously, as early as possible and consider to put into use the new building.

4. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
