-------------------------------- I am to invite your kind attention to the High Court's order cited above, wherein it has been directed as follows:- "The petitioners, who were arrested on 16.08.2020, for the offences punishable under Sections 8(c) r/w. 20(b)(ii)(C) and 25 of NDPS Act in Cr.No.53 of 2020 on the file of the respondent Police, seek bail.

2. This is the second bail petition. The earlier bail petition was dismissed by this Court on 26.10.2021, considering the nature of offence and the provision under Section 37 of NDPS Act. However, this Court directed the trial Court to conclude the trial within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.

3. Today, the learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the trial is not yet completed. Therefore, the second bail petition has been filed.

4. The Registry is directed to call for a report from the trial Court, namely, the Second Additional Sessions Court for EC and NDPS Act Cases, Madurai, as to why the trial is not concluded within the time stipulated by this Court.

5. Post the matter on 15.03.2022. The respondent Police is also directed to file a report as to why the witnesses has not been produced before the trial Court."

In this connection, you namely the II Additional Sessions Court for EC and NDPS Act Cases, Madurai, is hereby required to submit your report as stated supra, to this Registry on or before 14/3/2022 as the matter stands posted on 15/03/2022.
