PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent to forthwith issue a Genuineness Verification Report confirming that the petitioner's Scheduled Tribe Kattunayakkan Community Certificate No. 173261 dated 23.02.2011 issued by the third respondent is genuine, valid and authentic based on the petitioner's representation dated 25.11.2025, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by N.SATHISH KUMAR, J.) The petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition seeking a direction to the first respondent to issue a Genuineness Verification Report confirming that the petitioner's Scheduled Tribe Kattunayakkan Community Certificate No.173261 dated 23.02.2011 issued by the third respondent is genuine by considering her representation dated 25.11.2025. 2/5

The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on instructions, submitted that, by a letter dated 20.03.2026, a communication has been sent to the petitioner requesting her to submit a genealogy report. If the genealogy report is filed, necessary orders will be passed on merits.

3. In view of the above, this Court, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, directs the petitioner to submit a reply to the communication dated 20.03.2026 addressed to her, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the first respondent shall consider it and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording the petitioner due opportunity of personal hearing. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of the reply. 3/5

4.With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
