Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent herein to dispose the petitioner's appeal dated 31.08.2017 for issuance of patta in respect of S.No.531/1 in Kodalvavi Village, Dindigul West Taluk, Dindigul District on merits and in accordance with law within the time period as fixed by this Court.

ORDER

According to the petitioner, the patta in respect of S.No.531/1 in Kodalvavi Village, Dindigul West Taluk, Dindigul District stands in the name of Pittariamman Temple. In fact, the petitioner is the owner of the property. In the above circumstances, the petitioner filed an appeal before the first respondent on 31.08.2017, changing the patta in his favour, but so far, no order has been passed. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

2.Considering the fact that the appeal is pending with the first respondent, the first respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's appeal dated 31.08.2017 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, after issuing notice to the petitioner as well as the rival claimants, if any, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3.Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of.
