ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner for a direction directing the second respondent to issue a new Birth Certificate after making necessary corrections in the father's name of the petitioner's son as Selvam instead of Anthony in the Birth Certificate.

2.The petitioner got married one Selvam and gave birth to a male child on 01.04.2006. He was named as Sanjay. His birth was duly registered by the registering authority. After verification, the birth certificate was issued and found that the petitioner's husband's name was wrongly mentioned as Anthony instead of Selvam.

3.On verification of all records such as Aadhar Card and School Transfer Certificate revealed that the petitioner's husband's name is mentioned as Selvam. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation to correct the petitioner's husband's name in the birth certificate of her son as Selvam instead of Anthony. 2/4

4.In view of the above, the second respondent is directed to correct the petitioner's husband's name as Selvam instead of Anthony in the petitioner's son's birth certificate registered vide No.865/2006/01 dated 07.04.2006 and issue a fresh certificate, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
