PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to publish the result for Statistics Subject (Subject Code: STA201) conducted on 30.11.2025 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 22.01.2026 within a time limit fixed by this Court.

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed directing the first respondent to publish the result for the Statistics subject (subject code:STA201) conducted on 30.11.2025 by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 22.01.2026.

2. The petitioner is a student of the second respondent College and he had appeared for the Statistics subject paper in 2025. The petitioner has secured 23 marks in practical paper and 30 marks in theory paper. The required mark for passing the said paper is 60. The petitioner having secured 53 marks was declared as fail. If the petitioner has appeared for the supplementary examination on 10.11.2025 for the practical paper alone.

3. The petitioner was under the assumption that he had failed in the practical paper and therefore, he had appeared for the said paper and he was waiting for the result. Since the results were not published, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the first respondent University brought to the notice of the Court that the petitioner has to secure a 2/4

minimum of 20 marks in practical paper. The petitioner having secured 23 marks, he had already passed the practical paper in 2025 itself. Therefore, he has wrongly paid the reappearance fee for the practical paper in the supplementary examination. In fact, he should have appeared only for the theory papers to reach 60.

5. In view of the above said facts, the result of the petitioner for the practical examination has not been declared. Therefore, the petitioner is at liberty to appear for the theory paper. In case if he appears for the theory paper, the request of the petitioner may be entertained.

6. In view of the above said facts, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
