ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition had been filed seeking direction against the Respondent Police to provide Police protection to the life and limb of the Petitioner.

2. The learned Counsel for the Petitioner submitted that the Petitioner is a senior citizen. He had purchased the property from the third Respondent. Since the property had been purchased by the Petitioner, the tenants in the building had not vacated. The attempt of the Petitioner to contact them also failed, as the said premises was always locked. Therefore, he was forced to issue public notice through paper publication in Thinathanthi Daily newspaper dated 13.01.2024. Also the Petitioner had given a complaint to the Respondents 1 and 2 to evict the tenant and to take inventory of the articles left in the door locked house, after removing the lock.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), on instructions of the Respondents 1 and 2 would submit the Petitioner had given a representation to the Superintendent of Police and it is yet to be received by the second Respondent. On receipt of the same, the second Respondent undertakes to 2/4

follow the circular of Director General of Police/Head of State Police Force, Tamil Nadu and Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, Tamil Nadu.

4. Recording the submission of the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), this Criminal Original Petition is closed with a direction to the Respondent Police to take appropriate action within a reasonable period of one month from the date of receipt of the representation. 21.02.2024 NCC:yes/no Index:yes/no Internet:yes/no Nsr To 1.The Superintendent of Police, Virudhunagar District, Virudhunagar.
