ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed, invoking Section 482 Cr.P.C., seeking direction to the respondent to provide adequate and 1/4

necessary police protection to the petitioner and executive committee member life and limb based on the representation dated 09.02.2023.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioner is a newly elected President of Madurai Managar Merku Vattara Nadar Uravinmurai and troubles have been arising between two groups of the said association. He would further submit that on the basis of the representation made by the petitioner, the respondent has visited the place of the proposed meeting hall and found that it is not fit for conducting the association meeting and on that ground they advised the petitioner to change the venue. He would further submit that if the above said meeting is conducted in the proposed venue, law and order problem may be created by the opposite group. Subject to the change of venue, the respondent is ready to consider the petitioner's representation.

3. Let the respondent summon the opposite group and conduct an enquiry with regard to the threat made by them. Depending upon the outcome of the enquiry, further orders may be passed by the respondent. 2/4

4. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
