O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to issue a patta to the petitioner for the land in S.F.No. 241/2 of an extent of 1.76 acres situated at Nambukurichi Village, Chettikulam Sub Division, Trichy District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 26.09.2023.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. The petitioner submitted a representation dated 26.09.2023 for issuance of patta in respect of the properties referred to above. However, no action has been taken on the said representation. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. Learned Additional Government Pleader, appearing on behalf of the respondents, submits that the petitioner's representation would be considered on merits and in accordance with law. 2/5

In view of the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 26.09.2023 on merits and in accordance with law and to pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. The representation shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an inquiry. The second respondent is further directed to afford a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and to all other persons who may have an interest in the subject property during the course of the inquiry.
