O R D E R

This Writ Petition is filed directing the first respondent to initiate revenue recovery proceedings against the third respondent for the recovery of the award amount passed in W.C.No.73 of 2022 dated 19.04.2023 on the file of the second respondent within stipulated period based on the petitioner's representation dated 17.10.2025.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. Since no adverse orders are going to be passed against the third respondent, notice to the third respondent is hereby dispensed with.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that though an award dated 19.04.2023 was passed by the second respondent in W.C. No.73 of 2023 awarding a compensation of Rs.16,73,557/- along 2/5

with interest at the rate of 12% per annum, for the amputation of the petitioner's arm below shoulder, as against the third respondent, the third respondent has not come forward to deposit the said amount. He would further submit that despite the petitioner having made several attempts by submitting representations to the first and second respondent for recovery of the said amount under the Revenue Recovery Act, 1890, no recovery proceedings have been initiated against the third respondent.

The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first and second respondents, on instructions, would submit that the process for recovery would be initiated by the first respondent, immediately based on the petitioner's representation and would seek reasonable time for completion of the proceedings.

Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent, the District Collector, to initiate the recovery proceedings forthwith, as undertaken by the learned Additional Government Pleader and to complete the same within a period of sixteen (16) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is needless to state that before passing any order, the first respondent shall 3/5

provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner. There shall be no order as to costs.
