PRAYER : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent herein to reconsider the reissue application submitted by the petitioner in file No.MD2072645620719 dated 02.12.2019 by complying the legal formalities on the basis of the petitioner's representation made before him by RPAD dated 10.02.2021.

O RDER This writ petition has been filed for the issue of writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to renew the passport of the petitioner based on the application submitted by the petitioner on 02.12.2019. 2.Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side. 3.The application submitted by the petitioner for the renewal of passport was not considered by the first respondent on the ground that a criminal case is pending against the petitioner. Accordingly, the application of the petitioner was also rejected. Now it is brought to the notice of this Court that the criminal case that was pending against the petitioner ended in acquittal in C.C.No.415 and 418 of 2019 before the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Padmanabhapuram through judgment dated 08.12.2021. 4.In light of the above development, it is left open to the petitioner to make a fresh application before the first respondent forthwith seeking for renewal of the passport and the first respondent shall act upon the same and reissue passport, if the petitioner satisfies all the other requirements. process shall be completed by the first respondent within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of the application from the petitioner. 5.This Writ Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
