PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent to rectify the mistake happened during UDR scheme with regard to the land bearing S.No.65/1 with an extent of 540 sq.mtr, situated at Nesavalar Colony, Ward No.4, Chinnapuliyampatti Village, Aruppukottai, Virudhunagar District by considering the petitioner's representation with him dated 09.01.2025. ORDER
The petitioner seeks limited relief of issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the first respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation, dated 09.01.2025 seeking to rectify the error that has crept in the UDR Records.
2.According to the petitioner, S.No.65/1, measuring 540 sq.mtrs has been wrongly classified as a Government pond, though in the revenue records, the land 2/4
has been in the name of one Kandhan, from whom the petitioner's father-in-law has purchased the subject lands. The petitioner has, therefore, made an application for rectification of the said error in the UDR records. 3.Without going into the merits of the entitlement of the petitioner, the Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 09.01.2025, in accordance with law, after hearing any other interested parties, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
