O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 23.01.2023, for promotion to the existing vacancy of B.T.Warden created in Adi Dravidar Welfare Boys College Hostel at Kottur, Theni District for the year 2022 - 2023, as per G.O.(Ms) No.17, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare (ADW-4) Department, dated 24.01.2023.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was appointed as Secondary Grade Teacher in Government Adi Dravidar Welfare Middle School, B.Durairajapuram, Theni District in the year 2001. Thereafter, after obtaining prior permission from the Department, he pursued B.Lit., B.Ed., and M.A., and 2/5

qualified for promotion as Tamil Pandit, B.T.Assistant (Tamil). While so, the Government has created a post of B.T.Warden in Adi Dravidar Welfare Boys College Hostel at Kottur, Theni District for the year 2022 - 2013. Hence, the petitioner has made a representation to the respondents on 23.01.2023, requesting them to promote the petitioner in the said vacancy. Since the said representation was not considered, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

4. Considering the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 23.01.2023 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
