The present writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to dispose of the application submitted by the writ petitioner under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, dated 21.11.2025.

2. According to the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, the petitioner had executed a settlement deed dated 09.05.2005 in favour of his son, namely, the third respondent herein. Seeking cancellation of the said settlement deed, the petitioner submitted an application to the first respondent on 21.11.2025. Since the same has not been disposed of till date, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Considering the aforesaid facts, the first respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's application dated 21.11.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity to the third respondent. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

4. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
