The present writ petition has been filed seeking a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to issue passport to the petitioner by considering his application dated 02.01.2026.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the second respondent brought to the notice of this Court that the petitioner has been implicated in Crime No.290 of 2021 on the file of the second respondent police. So far, no charge sheet has been laid.

3. In view of the fact that cognizance has not been taken so far, this Court is of the considered opinion that there is no legal impediment for the first respondent to consider the petitioner's request for issuance of passport. Accordingly, the first respondent is directed to consider the request of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
