Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent i.e., the Agricultural Production Commissioner and Principal Secretary to Government, Agriculture Department, Chennai to take necessary action to complete the process in the disciplinary proceedings initiated in memo No.DCS2(5)/81809/2007, dated 11.06.2007 of the then Director of Agriculture, Chennai and pass appropriate final orders, within a specified time frame that maybe fixed by this Court.

ORDER

Heard Mr.S.Visvalingam, learned Counsel for the petitioner and Mr.K.Saravanan, learned Government Advocate for the respondents. 2.By consent of both parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 3.The petitioner was employed as Agricultural Officer. He reached the age of superannuation on 30.06.2007. He was however not allowed to retire, on account of the pendency of the criminal proceedings. The criminal case ended in acquittal on 14.03.2016. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

But, the disciplinary action initiated against the writ petitioner has not yet concluded. Therefore, the petitioner filed this petition for speedy conclusion of the disciplinary proceedings. The petitioner's request is reasonable.

4.Considering the urgency of the matter, the first respondent is directed to pass final orders on the disciplinary proceedings initiated against the writ petitioner on or before 21.05.2018. 5.This Writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
