Prayer : Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, to direct the learned trial court to dispose of the case pending in STC.No.57 of 2014, on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court, Melur, within a stipulated time that may be fixed by this Court and pass such further order or orders.

The petitioner/accused in STC No.57 of 2024 has filed this Criminal Original Petition, seeking a direction to the trial Court to 1/4

conclude the trial within a stipulated time.

2. This Court, by earlier order dated 21.02.2024, has directed the learned Judicial Magistrate, Melur to file a report as to the reasons for not proceeding with the summary trial case within a reasonable time. 3.Accordingly, the learned Judicial Magistrate has filed a report stating that the final report was filed on 16.11.2023 and it was taken on file on 22.01.2024. The case is in the stage of serving of summons to the accused 1 to 3. The accused 1 & 2 have not entered appearance and therefore, the trial could not be proceeded further. 4.Recording the report submitted by the learned Judicial Magistrate, Melur, this Criminal Original Petition is closed with a direction to the trial Court to conclude the trial in STC No.57 of 2024 as expeditiously as possible.
