Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to direct the 3rd respondent to give permission and protection to conduct cultural events scheduled to be held on 03.03.2021 in connection with Kumbabishegam festival of Arulmigu Sree Aayira Pillaiyar Temple at Panayapatty, Thirumayam, Pudukkottai District. ORDER

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage itself.

2. Mr.R.Erottuchamy, learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) accepts notice for the respondents.

3. Mr.NA.Palaniyandi, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is one of the members of the festival committee of Arulmigu Sree Aayira Pillaiyar Temple, Panayapatty, Thirumayam, Pudukkottai District and that cultural event is scheduled to be held on 03.03.2021. His further contention is that he submitted a representation dated 20.02.2021 to the respondents seeking permission to conduct the said programme and till date, no action has been taken by the respondents. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)No.4317 of 2021 4.Considering the said submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the first respondent/District Collector is directed to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation, based on merits and on findings and in accordance with law, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of this order.

5.With the above observation, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
