ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to dispose of the appeal pending in Na.Ka.No. 907386 of 2023 within the time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the subject property is ancestral in nature and has been in the continuous possession and enjoyment of the petitioner's family for several decades. It is further submitted that, due to an apparent error, the property has been wrongly classified in the revenue records as "Adi Dravidar Poramboke Natham", which is factually incorrect and contrary to the petitioner's lawful title and possession. Aggrieved by the said erroneous entry, the petitioner submitted an appeal before the second respondent seeking mutation of patta and correction of the revenue records. However, despite the lapse of considerable time, no action has been taken on the petitioner's representation. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's appeal will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's appeal pending in Na.Ka.No. 907386 of 2023, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law after providing reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, and any other persons, who may be affected by such decision, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
