ORDER

The present petition is filed by the petitioner seeking for a direction to the respondents 2 and 3 to provide police protection to the petitioner and her husband.

2.Mr.S.J.Chakkaravarthy, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner married one Sivakumar, against the wishes of her parents/respondents 4 and 5 herein, and that the respondents 4 and 5 ransacked the house of the said Sivakumar and also threatened the petitioner and family members of the Sivakumar 1/3

with dire consequences. His further contention is that though the petitioner lodged a complaint with the third respondent, no action has been taken by the third respondent police, till date. 3.Mr.R.Erottuchamy, learned Government Advocate (Criminal side), who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3, on instructions, would contend that the representation submitted by the petitioner was registered in C.S.R. No.31 of 2021 and is pending for enquiry.

4. Recording the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), the third respondent is directed to dispose of C.S.R.No.31 of 2021, based on findings and on merits, after giving notice and sufficient opportunity to the respondents 4 and 5, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order / uploading of the order. In the mean while, if necessary, the third respondent is directed to provide police protection to the petitioner and her husband. 5.With the above observation, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
