This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 to 3 to grant permission and police protection to conduct Kabadi Tournament from 22.05.2025 morning 06.00 a.m to 25.05.2025 night 12.00 pm at Neethi Nagar, Melur Main road, Madurai District for the summer holidays by considering the petitioner's representation dated 10.02.2025.
2.Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.
3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents would submit that already the representation of the petitioner was considered and the same was rejected by the respondents on 14.02.2025 stating that there is no parking facility available in the place, which is sought for by the petitioner to conduct Kabadi Tournament and if permission is granted, it would cause hindrance to the 2/5
public. However, if the petitioner submits any fresh representation by mentioning any alternative place to conduct Tournament, the same will be considered by the respondent police.
4.Since the representation of the petitioner, dated 10.02.2025 was rejected by the respondents and the respondents are ready to consider the fresh representation of the petitioner, it is for the petitioner to approach the respondent police with a fresh representation by mentioning any alternative place to conduct Kabadi Tournament. If any such representation made by the petitioner, the respondent is directed directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order, in accordance with law.
5.With the aforesaid directions and observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of.
