O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondent to give permission and protection for conducting Kabadi Tournament on 15.01.2018 and 16.01.2018 at Sports Ground, near Thirumalpuram, Vasudevanallur, Tirunelveli District, based on the representation given by the petitioner, dated 05.01.2018.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that every year in the Thirumalpuram village, the Kabadi Match is being conducted. Likewise, this year also, in the said village, a decision has been taken to conduct the Kabadi Match on 15.01.2018 and 16.01.2018 at Sports Ground, near at Thirumalpuram, Vasudevanallur, Tirunelveli District. Hence, the petitioner gave a representation to the respondent on 05.01.2018. But the said representation has not been disposed of.

3.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent submitted that based on the said representation, an order has been passed by the respondent on 07.01.2018 stating that there is a law and order problem in the said village and hence, permission cannot be granted to conduct Kabadi Match on the said dates. He has also produced a copy of the said order. 4.A perusal of the order shows that the respondent has simply rejected the representation of the petitioner by saying that there is a law and order problem, but he has not stated what is the law and order problem prevailing in the said village. Hence, the respondent/ Inspector of Police, Vasudevanallur, Tirunelveli District is directed to dispose of the said representation by citing the valid reason on or before 12.01.2018.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
