ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the learned Addl. Mahila Court (Magistrate Level), Nagercoil to complete the trial in C.C. No. 18 of 2024 within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the records placed before this Court.

3. According to the petitioner, she made a complaint before the respondent police, for which, the respondent police registered a case in Crime No.22 of 2023 for the offences punishable under Sections 498(A), 406 of IPC and Sections 3(1) and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961. A final report was also filed and CC No.18 of 2024 is pending before the learned Additional Mahila Court (Magistrate Level), Nagercoil. However, no trial has been commenced and the case is now pending from the year 2024. Therefore, the petitioner filed this petition for speedy trial.

4. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the learned Additional Mahila Court (Magistrate Level), Nagercoil, to complete the trial in CC No.18 of 2024 as early as possible, without giving long adjournments in this case.

5. With the aforesaid direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
